Irish team of researchers from the National University (NUI) Maynooth has developed software to solve the problem of congestion in wireless networks (WiFi).

Developed mathematical framework for analysing the behaviour of radio signals in WiFi and were used to locate and diagnose interference.

Scientists have developed software that can be installed on WiFi hardware and transmitters signals. This software optimizes traffic over wireless networks.

Nanostation5 works in 5,8Ghz spectrum and is one of most flexible CPE units on market. Working in both polarization, vertical and horizontal what give you opportunity to combine your network infrastructure to pass away from interferences.

Similar to Nanostation2 giving you maximum performance with easy install feature. Only different what exist is frequency and stronger antenna power, increase to 14dBi.

From my own experience Nanostation5 is a great thing for small WISP and LISP operators. Remember when in 2,4Ghz spectrum start be very noisy and customers complain that in evening they can’t watch youtube or use skype etc. We start installing Nanostation5 in conjunction with Horizontal polarized sector antenna that give us great results!

Mikrotik on RouterBoard ( RB333) and StarOs on Metro Board

There was a time when all network works on StarOs operating system with Metro boards and that wasn’t bad, but when we start do OSPF routing and PPPoE authorization for customers CPU clock wasn’t enough! Mikrotik is a really good operating system to creating wireless networks and Routerboards are pretty fast and good to implement in Network. How they works together ? In one word : they don’t like each other to much! But if you using routing in network it’s more or less ok. Worse is if your network is in bridge mode and all boards can see each-other, then happen strange things around :)
