Researchers at Rice University announced that they have successfully demonstrated full-duplex wireless technology allowing for a doubling of traffic on the network without changing hardware or build more cellular towers. Full-duplex technology would allow a cell phone or other wireless device to transmit data and receive data on the same frequency. Today’s networks require separate frequencies to send and receive. Irish team of researchers from the National University (NUI) Maynooth has developed software to solve the problem of congestion in wireless networks (WiFi).

Developed mathematical framework for analysing the behaviour of radio signals in WiFi and were used to locate and diagnose interference.

Scientists have developed software that can be installed on WiFi hardware and transmitters signals. This software optimizes traffic over wireless networks.

China Mobile, the largest mobile operator in the world, joins the Linux Foundation and intends to significantly accelerate the development of this operating system.

Taking into account customer base, China Mobile is the largest mobile operator in the world. Recently, this operator has invested in Linux, in its mobile operating system OPhone and open-source software, based on processing in the cloud.
